To begin its week-long summer celebration, a first-ever kickoff party is being thrown in downtown Pittsburgh to give diners a preview of Pittsburgh Restaurant Week – Summer 2012. On August 9, 2012, the Pittsburgh Restaurant Week Kickoff Party will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the lobby of the Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel located in the heart of the Pittsburgh Cultural District. The cocktail party-style event will include festive summer cocktails, free samplings from PRW-participating downtown restaurants and charity raffles. The event is limited to 300 attendees. Tickets are $50 per person.
Party-goers will experience a casual, entertaining “foodie” atmosphere while gaining a preview of PRW tastings circulated by participating restaurants, being provided the opportunity to make restaurant week reservations, enjoying cash bar drink specials, browsing sample restaurant week menus and learning about community partners who have helped to revive restaurant week in Pittsburgh.

Featuring downtown Pittsburgh restaurants
While the party will offer a spotlight on downtown dining, party-goers will browse restaurant week menus and specials while sampling food from highlighted downtown restaurants such as Bigelow Grille, Braddock’s American Brasserie, Franktuary, Habitat Restaurant, Olive or Twist, Penn Avenue Fish Company, and Six Penn Kitchen with additional restaurants expected to join the celebration.

To get the party started, each party-goer will receive one complimentary bottle of Yuengling Lager, Yuengling Lager Light or Yuengling Black & Tan, while individual selection lasts. Guests must provide proper proof of age at registration.
