Pittsburgh Restaurant Week Winter 2013 DatesPittsburgh, PA, November 1, 2012: As the free registration period came to a close for the Pittsburgh Restaurant Week – Winter 2013 celebration, nearly 50 restaurants are registered to offer special dining deals from January 14-20, 2013, featuring many discounted three-course fixed-price meals or $20.13 specials. During this week-long, city-wide event, restaurants and the community are invited to come together to celebrate steel city food and dining while highlighting with new dishes for the New Year.

As restaurant participation across the city continues to expand with each successive restaurant week season, the neighborhoods east of the city saw the largest spike in participation with eight new destinations registered to participate for their first restaurant week. The following 49 restaurants have registered, listed by area of Pittsburgh:

East, including neighborhoods from Lawrenceville, Bloomfield, and Shadyside to Regent Square
1947 Tavern, Abay Ethiopian Cuisine, Alma Pan-Latin Kitchen, Avenue B, Church Brew Works, Franktuary, Fukuda, Girasole, Hambone’s, Kaleidoscope Café, Pino’s Contemporary Italian Kitchen and Wine Bar, Root 174, Sausalido, Tamari, The Elbow Room, Toast! kitchen and wine bar, Verde Mexican Kitchen & Cantina and Wooden Nickel

City Central, including Downtown, Strip District and Oakland neighborhoods
August Henry’s City Saloon, Bar Marco, Braddock’s American Brasserie, Café Phipps, Caffe Amante, The Carlton, Common Plea, Franktuary, Habitat Restaurant, Meat & Potatoes, The Original Fish Market, Porch at Schenley, and Sharp Edge Bistro on Penn

North, including neighborhoods north of the Allegheny and Ohio rivers
Burgh’ers, Evolution Grille, Hartwood Restaurant, James Street Gastropub and Speakeasy, Lola Bistro, Mediterrano, Tamari, Vivo kitchen, and Willow

South, including neighborhoods south of the Monongahela River
Arpino Trattoria, Bados Pizza Grille & Ale House, Bistro 19, Bridge Ten Brasserie, Center Plate, and Silvi’s Mexican Restaurant

West, including all areas west of the Ohio River
1810 Tavern, Bocktown Monaca, Bocktown Robinson

Details of each individual dining deal are being finalized with each restaurants and will be posted to the Pittsburgh Restaurant Week website at pittsburghrestaurantweek.com/pghrestaurantwk in the coming weeks.

With 18 locations registered to participate, the East neighborhoods will host and be featured at the Pittsburgh Restaurant Week Kickoff Party. The party will be co-hosted with an organization from the eastern area of the city. More details will be announced in the coming weeks. Additional restaurants interested in participating in the winter 2013 celebration can take advantage of easy online registration through the event website for a $150 registration fee until December 31, 2012. Restaurants are encouraged to take this opportunity to reinforce their bonds with the community and celebrate the burgeoning food culture in Pittsburgh.
