Pittsburgh, PA, July 23, 2012: For those who have yet to make their restaurant week reservations, the Pittsburgh Restaurant Week Kickoff Party will provide a preview of downtown restaurants and offer on-site reservations. The event will be held on August 9, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the lobby of the Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel located in the heart of the Pittsburgh Cultural District. The cocktail party-style event will include festive summer cocktails, free samplings from PRW-participating downtown restaurants and charity raffles.
While the party will offer a spotlight on downtown dining, party-goers will browse restaurant week menus and specials while sampling food from highlighted downtown restaurants such as Bigelow Grille, Braddock’s American Brasserie, Franktuary, Habitat Restaurant, Olive or Twist, Penn Avenue Fish Company, and Six Penn Kitchen with additional restaurants expected to join the celebration.
Party-goers will experience a casual, entertaining “foodie” atmosphere while gaining a preview of PRW tastings circulated by participating restaurants, being provided the opportunity to make restaurant week reservations, enjoying cash bar drink specials, browsing sample restaurant week menus and learning about community partners who have helped to revive restaurant week in Pittsburgh. “America’s Oldest Brewery” Yuengling, located in Pennsylvania, joins the Pittsburgh Restaurant Week celebration. Thanks to their generous support, Pittsburgh Restaurant Week will greet each party guest with “First Drink’s On Us.”
From August 13-19, 2012, Pittsburgh Restaurant Week – Summer 2012 will focus on highlighting Pittsburgh food and restaurants through fine dining, fresh harvests and outdoor seating with week-long dining deals across the region.
