Spring is in the air and summer is within sight. As the outdoor temperature continues to rise, the Pittsburgh Restaurant Week program is also heating up for a summer of fun and excitement. On this first day of spring, Pittsburgh Restaurant Week is pleased to announce that the city won’t need to wait all year before its next celebration. This summer from August 13-19, 2012, Pittsburgh Restaurant Week – Summer 2012 will focus on highlighting Pittsburgh food and restaurants through fine dining, fresh harvests and outdoor seating.
Earlier in 2012, Pittsburgh experienced the rebirth of Pittsburgh Restaurant Week. During the week-long celebration in January, the community rallied in support of participating restaurants and took advantage of great dining deals while showing their admiration of the steel city dining scene. The restaurants warmed our hearts and stomachs as they featured an array of hearty, comfort food dishes.
This summer, the Pittsburgh community is invited to celebrate our local restaurants and purveyors by enjoying wonderful meals at participating restaurants at discounted prices. While the city is home to restaurants ranging from cash-only, take-out to exclusive, fine dining, Pittsburgh Restaurant Week embraces the melting pot of restaurants in our great city in a week-long celebration of dining and food. Special events for summer 2012 will include an opening night celebration, an exclusive behind-the-scenes food blogger dinner, as well as other events to be announced later this summer.
Pittsburgh Restaurant Week is pleased to offer online registration for restaurants interested in participating in the celebration. Online registration is available through the event website at no-cost until May 31, 2012. Restaurants are encouraged to visit this site and register their restaurants to take advantage of this opportunity to reinforce their bonds with the community and celebrate the burgeoning food culture in Pittsburgh.
